Aqua Cremation—also known as Alkaline Hydrolysis—is a gentle,
water-based process that uses 95% water and 5% alkali salts to
naturally return the body to its basic elements. It mimics the earth’s
own decomposition process but in a much shorter time.
Unlike traditional cremation, it uses no flames or fossil fuels, emits
no harmful gases, and requires 90% less energy. Our facility runs
entirely on electricity, making this a more sustainable and thoughtful
choice.
Yes. Aqua Cremation produces a pure, sterile form of ashes—just like traditional cremation. In fact, the process typically yields 20% more remains due to its gentler nature. You’ll still have the opportunity to keep or scatter your loved one’s ashes in whatever way feels most meaningful to you.
Families choose this process for its care, gentleness, and deep respect for both the body and the planet. It’s a flame-free process that avoids burning fossil fuels or releasing emissions, offering over 90% energy savings compared to traditional cremation. You also receive more of your loved one’s ashes, making it both a thoughtful and environmentally responsible option.
Typically, the process takes 7–10 days. This includes transportation, legal documentation, the Aqua Cremation itself, and returning the remains to your family.
Yes, you can choose to have a memorial, celebration of life, or religious ceremony before or after the Aqua Cremation process, just like with traditional cremation or burial.
Whether you’re planning ahead or saying goodbye today, our caring team is here to help you every step of the way

White Rose Aqua Cremations offers an eco-friendly alternative to traditional cremation through a gentle process called aquamation. Also known as water cremation, aquamation uses water and natural alkali to return the body to its natural elements without flames, harmful emissions, or high energy use.
We serve families who want a dignified, environmentally conscious way to say goodbye, with care that honors your loved one and respects the planet.
Your loved one is respectfully positioned within a specially designed stainless steel vessel
A carefully measured mixture of water and alkali salts is added to the vessel, which raises the alkalinity of the water
The vessel is securely sealed, and the aqua cremation process is set into motion
The gentle warm water movement within the vessel facilitates the efficient breakdown of the body's organic materials
Following the aqua cremation process, the remaining bone fragments are carefully retrieved
Similar to traditional cremation, the bone fragments are processed further into a fine ash suitable for memorial purposes
The aqua cremation process leaves behind a sterile liquid solution which is entirely safe and eco-friendly
The water is responsibly treated, before safely returning it into our ecosystem
